Coverage Reporting Update: CMS requires that employers provide
electronic confirmation of the creditable (or non-creditable)
status of their prescription drug plans.
- HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices for
Protected Health Information deadline approaching. April 14,
2007 marks the next required deadline notice for clients that
have not sent out a notice since April 2004. Sample notice
provided.

- Congress passes sweeping Health Savings
Accounts (HSAs) changes. These potential regulatory changes may
make a significant difference in the evaluation and feasibility
of HSAs and Qualified High Deductible Plans. The anticipated
changes include allowance of an HSA contribution beyond the
plan deductible to the federal limit, more flexibility in
rollovers of FSA/HRA/IRA and elimination of other restrictions.

Dominion Benefits offers web seminars (in August and September) to educate employers about their responsibilities under the new rules for Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Benefits. THESE RULES APPLY TO ALL EMPLOYERS (Even those without retiree health coverage!)

plans are due July 31. Learn more about ERISA filing and
disclosure requirements for your welfare (health, life, and
disability plans), and avoid costly penalties (and further
complications) with self-correction before a Department of
Labor (DOL) investigation
- Dominion Benefits has been in
communication with our Flex Plan administrators regarding the
new regulations. All seem to be in the mode of evaluating the
regulations and the needed software and SPD enhancements to
implement a change. We expect more information regarding client
options for plan changes sometime this summer.
